Please note the following points of information:
v The wearing of indoor shoes has slipped a lot in the school recently. We appeal to all parents/guardians and pupils to ensure indoor shoes are worn indoors at school. Also please ensure outdoor footwear suitable for playing on the field are supplied for senior pupils.
- We will attend Hairspray the musical in Our Lady’s Secondary School on Wednesday. This will cost €3 per pupil for the musical and €2 per pupil for the bus. A total of €5 per pupil will therefore be required by Wednesday.
- The U13 Girls Football County Final V Cloneen has been rescheduled for Friday the 9th of November in Cashel at 11.30am. Lifts will be required for players/all 5th and 6th class pupils as usual if possible please. We will have a bus for the remainder of the pupils as we would like the entire school to come along to support the girls. The cost of this will be €3 per pupil. 5th/6th Class will leave the school at 10am. The bus will leave the school at 10.15am. We wish the girls the very best of luck!!
v The school’s Annual Progressive 25 Card Game was a great success and thanks are due to the BOM, Parents Association and School Staff for all the planning and preparation that went into this fundraiser. We thank Seanie Gleeson and Bridie Long also for their generosity of time and expertise in assisting us. We thank everyone who supported this event in any way. We also thank the ticket collectors, spot prize contributors, confectionery contributors and all who assisted in any way on the night itself. Almost €3,300 was raised for the school. This money is so very badly needed to keep our school accounts balanced.
v Reminder: We asked that all pupils would wear a watch for the month of November as we will be focusing on Time as part of our Numeracy Improvement Plan. Please ensure that your child has a watch for school (it does not need to be an expensive one – just a very basic watch will suffice).
v Swimming for 3rd and 4th class this week.
v Congratulations to Ms. Cummins, Ms. Quinlan and Ms, Maher on the occasions of their graduation from teacher training college recently. We wish them every good wish, happiness and fulfilment in their teaching careers.
v We have our final Ceilí Dancing Lessons with Margaret Corcoran next week. We have had a great time in her class and thank her sincerely for all her help. Margaret has kindly agreed to return to assist us with a Ceilí Mór for Seacthain na Gaeilge in March – we look forward to that immensely.
v Please return shoe-boxes for Team Hope before Friday as they will be collected next Tuesday. I urge as many pupils as possible to support this wonderful and very poignant cause as we head into Advent.
Kind Regards, Angela Dunne – Principal.
