Loughmore N.S. is a very happy, inclusive and successful centre of education. The staff, parents and pupils work closely in a spirit of cooperation and positivity to ensure the highest standards of education are met in a holistic manner for all pupils from Loughmore parish itself and its hinterland. The pupils enjoy dynamic and engaging interaction with a packed curriculum and the school excels in catering also for the extra-curricular needs of its pupils, particularly in terms of sport, music, art, environmental issues and culture. We have highly qualified staff and specialised facilities for pupils with Special Educational Needs also. We have recently expanded our sporting facilities and new Afterschool Infant and Homework Clubs have also been established in the school. The staff are friendly, approachable, creative, diligent, highly qualified and are hugely dedicated to delivering the highest standards of education in an inclusive and amiable environment. Small class sizes are ideal for catering for the individual needs of each pupil and your child’s education will be facilitated in a progressive, yet tranquil country setting convenient for children from Loughmore and the wider locality. School times are 9.20am – 3.00pm. We welcome new pupils and enrolments for September 2018 are now being accepted *. An Open Evening will be held in the school in February 2018 – more details to follow. Please feel welcome to call in for a look around and some refreshments. For further information please contact the school on (0504) 32225 or check out our website www.loughmorens.ie.
ASD Unit – Solas
An Autistic Spectrum Disorder Class was established in Loughmore NS in September 2013. A second ASD class opened in September 2014 and our new ASD Building has recently been completed in October 2014. We have state of the art facilities including a beautiful calm room and vibrant multi-sensory room. If you are interested in this facility please contact the school or our SENO (Special Education Needs Organiser). Please also note our School Enrolment policy (under the Policies heading on our website). At present our ASD Unit is full to capacity and a waiting list for places is in operation. Please contact our office for more details.
Please note: Enrolment applications for September 2018 for a place in this Unit closes on 28th of February 2018. This is due to NCSE deadlines for resource applications.
*Please note also that if you are enrolling your child in our mainstream classes for September 2018, and your child has special educational needs, that we need to receive your enrolment form before February 28th 2018 to ensure that the proper resources (resource hours, SNA access etc.) are applied for to the NCSE within their deadlines.
